Such a dark and cold sunday today!! Brrrrr :hmm:
I hope you are all fine and the weather is much better where you are 8-) then here in foggy bavaria :ohmygod:
Makes me happy to see that there are already some beautiful picctures in our CONTEST folder :happybounce:
If you did not submit your entries yet...don´t worry you still got lots of time to do that and there is a COUNTDOWN on the
group page that tells you when you have to hurry up haha ;) BUT PLEASE don´t forget that the more people are submiting to the Contest folder, the more fun it is!! :woohoo:
So keep your eyes open for ARCHES combined with the colorful season of autumn we got now...
You can take a picture of
PEOPLE FORMING ARCHES..on autumn leafes or in front of autumn landscape...
OTHER ARCHES IN NATURE (branches looking like an arch, tree tunnels...)

Spirit Day 2012In early October 2010, Canadian teenager Brittany McMillan promulgated the observance of a new commemoration called Spirit Day, the first observance of which took place on October 20, 2010, in which people wear the color purple to show support for LGBT young people who are victims of bullying. Since then it has turned into a global event against bullying, promoted by GLAAD.
This year's Spirit Day is on October 19, and this is what you can do to show your support:
:bulletpurple: Turn your deviantID or your avatar purple!
:bulletpurple: Create Spirit Day artwork and submit it to our Spirit Day Gallery. 
Submit artwork that encourages love, acceptance, tolerance, empathy, and purple!

Jerry Uelsman and Why Surrealism is ArtJerry Uelsman established his unique and famous Photography style in the 1940s by using multiple photos to create a surrealistic and impressionist composite image. He's what we'd call 'old school' and is a modern day photographer with old style equipment. Even though he lives in an era when digital Photography is widely available, he chooses simply to stick with his film cameras and is famously quoted as saying...
"I am sympathetic to the current digital revolution and excited by the visual options created by the computer. However I feel my creative process remains intrinsically linked to the alchemy of the darkroom."
Uelsman exhibits up to this present day with his work being showcased across much of the USA. His exhibition is famously titled, Faking it: Manipulated Photography before Photoshop and serves as a poke that perhaps we can learn a thing or two from this great man.
